My first video, some random shots, and another impossible kiss.

I’ve been toying with the idea of trying to make videos for quite a while, and I decided that my recent phone upgrade to a Galaxy S9 was the perfect opportunity. Perfect opportunity, but far from perfect video. I’m happy with the resolution, however I don’t think the video would be watchable for people who suffer from severe motion sensitivity. So, it looks like the next investment, should I decide to continue dabble in videos, I think my next investment will be a gimbal. However, as they seem to run for, minimum, a few hundred dollars, I may wait just a bit. In any case, here is the link to the video, in case you’re interested.

As for the shots in this post, they come from a city about 10 minutes outside Barcelona, called Mollet del Vallès. It was found on the walls of a secondary school on the Rambla de Balmes, while I was on my way to one of my rent-paying gigs, working as a Cambridge English assessor, which often takes me outside the city. The other shot comes from none other than TV Boy, and features an impossible kiss between two arch-rivals from the world of European football, Pep Guardiola (with the yellow ribbon) and Jose Mourinho. While the two have moved on from the posts where their rivalry was most heated, as managers of Barça and Real Madrd, respectively, the memory of their entertaining jabs at one another lives on.

Corner of resistance, 2: Hellcat

Here’s another shot that I forgot to add to the montage from the Casal Popular in Gràcia. Or perhaps it’s better that I’ve given this one its own entry. After all, it’s common knowledge that the majority of internet traffic is dedicated to porn and pictures of cats. Oh, and searches of academic journals, of course.
So, here’s my contribution to the billions of cat pictures slinking about in cyberspace, though I don’t think this fiery feline is in search of a “cheezburger”.

Angry cat over layers of tags

This is another shot from the Poblenou neighborhood. This wall was once the corner of a factory that was demolished into a large dusty parking lot and community garden. This angry looking cat slapped atop what are at least three or four layers of tags is one of two walls; a corner for a room that no longer exists. On the other side of this wall the corner is filled with the green and brown glass of broken beer bottles and fragments of brick and mortar. I like to imagine that maybe the “owner” of this property commissioned the cat to be painted in an attempt to keep out intruders, after the 30 cm concrete barriers proved inadequate protection. Seems the cat, so far has been effective in keeping the taggers away, but not so for “IRINA”.

This is a cat by c215. Difficult to see in the pic, but this picture is extremely textural. This cat was just begging to be petted.
